My practice is rooted in Jewish mysticism and spirituality, femininity and the immutability of peace, love and forgiveness. I use Hebrew calligraphy and the kabbalistic (spiritual) meanings of Hebrew letters as my primary motif. I am interested in the concept of ritual and repetition within Jewish practices and how that connects to the intrinsic experience of being in a female body and an understanding of feminine spirituality. In addition to this, I incorporate aspects of the Jewish philosophical understanding of time, being that time is cyclical, ritual, and repeats upon itself constantly while still creating new understanding. I aim to draw attention to the beauty and value of all things and to promote love, acceptance, and understanding of differences in gender, race, and religion.

Miriana Wasserman (b. 2002, Los Angeles, California) is a printmaker, artist, and curator currently based in London. Born to socially progressive Jewish parents active in the book and film industries, Miriana grew up valuing art’s transformative power to effect positive change in society. She holds a degree in Fine Art and Art History from Aberystwyth University, where her relocation to a community with limited Jewish presence catalysed a deeper engagement with her cultural heritage. Her art practice integrates Hebrew calligraphy, Jewish mysticism, and themes of peace, love, and reflection, fostering connections between personal identity and broader societal issues. Miriana’s artistic practice is shaped by her experiences living in diverse cultural contexts, which inspire her to use her work as a tool for building empathy and understanding. Today, her practice is a dynamic intersection of cultural exploration, social critique, and artistic experimentation.
